Just yesterday, a shooting took place in Chicago. Chicago has seen many shootings last year, and it seems 2017 will at least start off with one. There were over 3,000 people shot in 2016 in Chicago, which is more than the year previously. Monday, there was an attack near the Eisenhower Expressway. There were to males killed on the west side of Chicago, and eight people in total were shot. The shootings took place over the period of Monday morning to Tuesday morning. The Stroger Hospital nearby pronounced the first victim, a 26 year old man dead after police found his body in a nearby neighborhood. The next morning, another man was killed while riding in his car, and a passenger was also wounded in another nearby neighborhood. Several of the young men injured were rushed to the Stroger Hospital, and stabilized. Some are still in serious condition, and are currently being treated at Stroger as well.

What’s so shocking about these shootings is how close they all were to neighborhoods, which in turn means families and children. Over Christmas weekend, there were 48 people shot, and 11 died. It’s terrible to hear that a large number of those shootings happened on Christmas Day. Shootings are happening more and more often in the United States, and with the current divisiveness taking place it doesn’t bode well for future instances. We hope that there will be far less violence this year, but it’s important to be prepared and maintain a plan for emergency situations. Made of solid quarter inch steel plate, this storm shelter is designed to withstand massive abuses from mother nature and criminal activity alike. The fully welded safe rooms are able to withstand tornado force wind speeds when properly installed inside the home, garage, or even out in the open. You can install these units outside, when anchored to a properly reinforced concrete pad, for safety and security for your family. Each unit comes standard with a 36″ standard security door with a three-point security latch system, and a key-lockable deadbolt. There are two different types of underground storm safe entrances, a stairwell and a ladder. Each unit comes standard with a 36″ standard security door with a three-point security latch system, and a key-lockable deadbolt. Sheltered air vents allow air in and will keep debris out.
